Rob Mueller is married to his wife, Lodie Mueller, of 29 years. They are the proud parents of Natalie & Sarah Mueller.
Rob has been the minister of Divine Redeemer Presbyterian Church since 1994.
When asked about his interests Rob stated “I love to hug people, hike, hunt, fish, garden, dance (to almost anything), do yoga at the beginning of the day, sing karaoke (Spanish and English), climb rocks, take photos, write poetry, kayak, travel, brew my own beer, make designer venison sausage (you have to taste it to believe it!) and I love to ride motorcycles although I don’t have one right now.
Rob’s involvement in the wider Presbyterian Church has included serving Mission Presbytery with the Spiritual Life Division. Keynoting for several events including Youth Mid-winter conferences and has served as chair of the Hispanic Ministry Committee.
Rob was instrumental in the launch of the Guatemala Partnership and has served on that team for 9 years. He has served as a chaplain at the John Knox Ranch, as a Commissioner to General Assembly in 2006. He was elected in 2009 to serve as Moderator of the presbytery for 2010 and will serve as the chair of the General Council of the presbytery for 2011. When asked about how he has been able to accomplish all of these endeavors, Rob answered “all by the grace of God and because of the good will of my colleagues.”
Rob’s passions include the application of grass roots educational strategies like those of Paulo Freire to biblical education. This innovative minister has embraced his calling and allowed it to transcend the pulpit and the four walls of the church to reach out to the greater community. Rob went on to tell me “I am passionate about local neighborhood mission and community development as a necessary ministry for the local congregation and I am learning to take time in silence and use contemplative prayer as an essential spiritual discipline.” He has also produced many bilingual worship resources that are available to churches upon request.
